KinNoKi Labs

About

A solo studio with dirt on its boots.

KinNoKi Labs is one person solving messy technical and operational problems from Cape Breton, Nova Scotia — across documents, data, websites, automation, and custom software.

The Apple apps are visible proof of that work, not the boundary of it. The same approach runs through everything: understand the real work, find the painful handoff, and make the smallest useful improvement.

Problem-first

Understand the real work and the painful handoff before choosing a tool or platform.

Broad technical range

Repair what exists, connect the right pieces, and build something new only when the problem justifies it.

Reviewable systems

Small systems that show where every answer came from — not black boxes — especially when decisions carry real cost.

Open source

I share what I learn. The apps and several supporting tools are public on GitHub.

Background

Before KinNoKi Labs, I spent years in bid rooms — estimates, tender paperwork, and the documents that follow a job around. These days I deliver a rural mail route, which is where several of these apps were born.

That mix keeps the work honest. I know what it costs to quote work against a deadline with the numbers scattered across old jobs, and I know what a tool has to survive to earn its place on a busy day: spotty connectivity, repeated paperwork, and no patience for software that gets in the way.
